Splitboard freeride, guided
We run guided splitboard and freeride expeditions across the Caucasus, the Julian Alps and the Balkans. Six riders to a team, two guides, and a turn-around time we keep. The mountain sets the day. We read it and tell you plainly what it will and will not give.
A day on this peak is four decisions, not one. We make each of them out loud, and any of them can end the climb. This is the line we run when the snow allows it.
01 / West apron
We skin the apron in the dark and reach the couloir mouth at first light. If the crust is not holding by the time the sun touches it, we do not go up.
Every number here is real to the trip. The dates are the dates, the price is the price, and the last line of each is who it is not for. We would rather lose the booking than lose you on the mountain.
Greater Caucasus, GeorgiaGudauri and Kazbegi
Eight days on the main ridge above Gudauri. Long approaches, cold north faces, and the descents that made this range the reason people fly here.
Not fora first backcountry season. You lead 35 degree slopes on your own edge and your transceiver work is fluent before you arrive.
Julian Alps, SloveniaBovec, Soca valley
Six days of narrow, technical couloir riding under Triglav. Short walk-ins, steep exits, and limestone that holds a line like nothing in the Caucasus.
Not foranyone uneasy on a 45 degree entry with exposure below. These are committing lines and we do not lower the grade to fill a team.
Sar Mountains, North MacedoniaPopova Sapka
Seven days point to point across the Sar range. Wide, open bowls, hut to hut nights, and some of the emptiest freeride terrain left in Europe.
Not forriders who need lifts and groomers between runs. You carry a light pack all week and the days are long on the flat as well as the steep.
Svaneti, GeorgiaMestia and Mazeri
Nine days in the high Svan valleys under Ushba. The remotest trip we run, the deepest snow we know, and the smallest margin for a mistake.
Not foranyone we have not ridden with before. A season on our other trips, or a call and a straight conversation, comes first. Rescue is hours away here, not minutes.
Safety protocol
None of this is optional and none of it is negotiable at the trailhead. If a rule below is a problem, this is the wrong trip, and we would rather you know that now than at the couloir.
Every rider carries all three, tested at the van each morning by a guide, worn on the body and not in the pack. No spare set exists for someone who forgot. We check yours in front of you.
A pit at the base of the day's aspect, a compression test, and a written call before a single skin goes on. The guide who reads the snow makes the go decision. It is not a vote.
Every objective has a time by which we turn, summit or not. When it arrives we turn. The summit is optional. The descent in daylight, with the snow still cold, is not.
Both guides on every trip hold a full avalanche professional qualification and a current mountain rescue and wilderness first response certification, revalidated each season before the first departure. We carry a satellite messenger and a trauma kit on every day out, and we file the day's plan before we leave the road.
Small company, small bench, by choice. You will know your guides by name before you fly, and you will ride with them, not behind a stranger holding a clipboard.

Grew up under Triglav and has ridden the Julian lines in every state they come in. Knows which entries are worth the walk and which ones only look it.

minus 14 C, clear, 30 cm cold snow on a firm base
Pit at the couloir base showed clean bonding to the January crust, shear test moderate and planar at 40 cm. We went up.
Team of five rode it one at a time to the apron. The last pitch into the birches was the best snow of the week and nobody said a word the whole way down, which is how you know.
CallGreen light. Textbook morning, and rare to get one this clean on a north aspect this early.

Ridge above Kobi

minus 9 C, wind from the west at 40 km/h, fresh loading
Wind had built a slab on the lee side of the ridge overnight. The compression test failed easy and clean, which is the result that ends the conversation.
We were forty minutes from the top and the group wanted it. I said no and we rode the mellow west apron instead. It was a good day of riding that nobody will remember.

minus 3 C, high thin cloud, corn softening by 10 am
Spring conditions, so the whole day ran on the clock rather than the pit. We wanted the entry frozen firm and the exit softened just enough, which is a two hour window and no more.
Topped out at 09:20, all six down and off the runout by 10:40. Any later and the entry cornice would have been in the sun.
CallGreen light, tight window, kept. Spring lines are a timing problem before they are a snow problem.

There is no instant booking here. You tell us what you actually ride, we tell you which trip is the right one, and sometimes we tell you to come back next season. A deposit holds a place for fourteen days once we both agree it fits.
