Cordwainer Yard, EC4
Nine rooms. One yard.
The good light kept for the corners.
A small hotel in a converted currier's works on Cordwainer Yard, off Mansion House. Small enough that the desk knows your name by the second morning.
The board
- Room 3, Off Yard, taken tonight
- Room 7, The Corner, taken tonight
7 of 9 hangingThe board is the truth. The website is only the website.
Three ways to stay.
Nine rooms. Three are corners. One is the ninth. When they are taken, they are taken.
Off Yard
one window, over the cobbles
A good bed, a deep bath, and the yard below going quiet after eleven. What a room is meant to be, with nothing added to justify the price.
The Corner
two windows, the morning in both
The good light, kept for the corners. Twice the glass, a chair worth sitting in, and the sound of the street arriving as a rumour rather than a fact.
The Ninth
the whole top floor
The ninth room is the top floor, all of it. A tub by the window, the yard on one side and the City on the other. There is one. You already want it.
Stay a season. The desk faces the window; we checked.
For the long guest: a month, a quarter, the winter. The room is yours, the kitchen is nightly, the yard is whenever. You unpack properly, and the corridor learns your step.
Every residence keeps a desk by the window. We measured the light before we bought the chairs.

Plunge pool, eleven degrees. It is not a mistake.
